KEY EVENTS
PROJECT BEGINNING
October 11th, 2020
Throughout the timeframe of September and beginning of October, we had to go to the white board. This was our initial brainstorming phase for ideas. When we decided upon a project with Levi Zaleski's co-op company. The Wire Tracker.
PARTS DELAYMENT
October-November
During the pandemic this last year, we did not anticipate how much parts delay would effect us until we were in it. Key components were trickling in, pushing us behind schedule in the first semester.
CODE DEVELOPMENT/ SMALL TESTING
November - December
During the November/December timeframe, we were developing our code and working with what parts we were able to obtain. The software development was the most time consuming portion of the project.
INITIAL CONSTRUCTION
January 20, 2021
Once back from winter break, we were able to construction our prototype. All parts were in. During this time we were also conducting small scale testing.
FIRST FULL SCALE TEST
March 3rd, 2021
Our device was ready for the field test, we met a Duke Energy team in Oxford,OH to test our device out on the full scale rig.
FINAL FULL SCALE
March 22nd, 2021
Our final full scale test occurred on March 22nd in Oakley, OH. We were able to track over 800 feet of cable that was pulled accurately.
